Artificial Love by Alisa Mullen RELEASE DAY BLITZ!

Artificial Love: Book 2 in The Good Bye Trilogy is live 4/1/15!

Amazon US ** Amazon UK ** Amazon CA ** Amazon AU

Johnny Lennox, lead guitarist of Love Sick Ponies, tried to love once. Diligent, loving, attentive, and giving, he is not. Obsessive. Compulsive. Self-sabotage. That sounds more like it. And why not? Jules Delaney, the one girl he ever tried to love, is gone and her absence continues to ruin his life in and out of the band. Emily McDonald got the word “nice” when she was twelve. Nice. Nice. Nice. She is a nice woman. Because she is so nice - her husband likes to cheat, her friends like to take advantage of her, and her self-esteem is dead. Late one night, Johnny and Emily find themselves sleeping only a few feet away from one another – an awkward situation that can’t be rectified. Until… They begin to share their experiences from childhood into adulthood. They experience unexplained events together. Ultimately, they rock the LSP tour bus, where they find a different kind of love in one another. When the tragedy strikes, they must ignore their instinct, expectations, and other people's judgment to fight for one another. Were they artificial or did they fall into the genuine kind of love?

** This is the 2nd book in The Good Bye Trilogy*** Mature audiences ONLY. May be questionably graphic in one scene.

5*

Oh Johnny...you need to stop making my heart hurt! I've been a little in love with this messed up little puppy for a long time now! He's the kind of character that you want to slap with one breath and hug the hell out of him with the next...but whichever emotion he evokes in you....trust me, he'll evoke one!! Emily is ''Nice'' she's nice to the point where she apologises to the woman her cheating sod of a husband is sleeping with when she walks in on them! She's ''Nice'' to the point where she gets trampled by every single person she meets. I kinda want to slap some evil into her!! Unfortunately, life seems to do enough of that. Nice guys always finishes last I suppose. This book is truly something different for Alisa...she has always been a funny lady but up until now, I wouldn't have said that her books were laugh out loud-giggling to yourself days later- kinda funny! (Pasta sauce...once you've read the book...come talk to me because even writing this I'm giggling!) The intricate mesh of hilarity and serious themes were sewn together utterly seamlessly! I'll freely admit to being a little hesitant to read this however! 'Plastic Confidence' is easily in my top 10 books of all time and I was terrified that this could be the chubby little sister of a companion...well, when I'm wrong, I say I'm wrong! and boy was I wrong!!! 'Artificial Love' had moments of extreme hilarity and moments that were so raw, so full of emotion, that my breath caught in my throat. This is the first book in a long time that has left me with that ''Wait...WTF...NOOOOOO!! you can NOT do this!!!! nooooo!!'' feeling when you finish! lets just say...Alisa, you're amazing but you need to tie yourself to your laptop and give me 'Elastic Hope' absolutely NO toilet breaks! no excuses...I need that bad boy!!
5 stars

SYNOPSIS

Ryker

She is the epitome of the girl next door, but with a feistiness that makes my dick throb.

I'm drawn to her like no other; she stirs things in me I have no desire to feel, long for things I shouldn't.

This is my game. I choose the players. I never play for keeps.
I don't believe in fate. I make my own destiny. I work hard and play harder.
Luck is for pussies, Karma for idiots. Me, I make shit happen.

Meeting her fucked up my plan. Threw me off my game.
I'm now face to face with my Karma and her name is Kat Rollins.

Kat

Ryker Eddison is the epitome of a player.
You know the type - Mr. Get In and Get Out.

He's all about the chase, wanting just one night. Everyone knows this, I know this. Still I find myself craving him. My greedy body betraying what my heart and mind already know; he will only bring me pain.

He's the guy that girls like me should avoid. I'm smart, I know better. But when I'm with him, I feel things I’ve never felt before. Things I never knew I wanted.

I can't deny it...I like the chase, the high is explosive, but I'm afraid if I give in, I may end up losing more than I can handle... my heart.

EXCERPT

Ryker
I walk into Pub Fiction for my shift about forty-five minutes early tonight, not thinking twice about knocking on the staff room door because a, Im early, and b, I never have the fuck before. Well let me tell you, apparently a and b don't apply anymore with Hot Girl working here. And apparently a knocking rule needs to be put in effect from this point on.

Cause, HOLY FUCKING CHRIST! As I barge into the room Im quickly met with the sexiest scene I have EVER laid my eyes upon in my life. Sitting on the black leather ottoman in the middle of the room while bending forward with the abundance of her succulent cleavage spilling out of a black lace bra, is none other than Kat. Well fuck me sideways til Sunday! She doesn't see me right away as shes pulling up black sheer pantyhose over her legs, legs I might add that just don't seem to quit. With this vision in front of me now taunting my senses, mainly my sense of I-wanna-fucking -touch, of course I do what all men in my position would do. Yup, like the fucking perv I am, I stare. Actually no, I full on gawk at the sight unfolding in front of my greedy eyes. Greedy to take her all in, every motion, every curve. Jesus, who knew a simple act could be so erotic. My cock is throbbing from where I stand, aching to be set free. Stifling a moan, I adjust myself thinking of my next move.

I honestly cannot help but watch, even if I wanted to leave, I cant. Its as if Im rooted in place, my feet encased in cement, trapping me. My brain convincing my body its actually stuck. And truth be told, Im okay with it. There is no other place Id rather be at this very moment, than right there with this woman as I silently wallow in her beauty. This, this in front of me is what wet dreams are made of. I knew this girl was hot, but fuck me. Man, am I grateful that my brain and body arent on the same page right now. You know the page where my legs would be allowing me to leave like I know I should. I know the right thing to do is to turn around and walk right the fuck back out the door. But in truth there is no fucking way that is happening, cause this view is spectacular. And there is no fucking way am Im missing this opportunity.

As if shes finally sensing something in the air has changed, Kat looks up and finds me standing there rooted in my place by the door, gawking at her. Rather than freaking out like I assume she would, she simply smiles, her face a bit flushed as states that she says she could have sworn she locked the door. Our eyes meet and she continues to blush the sexiest shade of pink I have ever seen. I cant help but think of what other body parts of Kats might match the shade. Shaking my head from those thoughts for now, I focus my attention back onto Kat, and in perfect time to witness her stand from her position on the ottoman.

I should fucking say something, I know this, I really do but for some fucked up reason I cant form a response. It's like Im one of those assholes who gets all tongue-tied around pretty girls. Fuck, I look like such a dick right now. Here I stand, staring with my mouth agape waiting her next move or to finally see her lose her shit on me. But instead, I've never been so thankful for not having a voice before in my life. As Kat stands, I can tell shes actually quite nervous and shy. For some reason instinct wants me to comfort her. I want to call her baby and reassure her that she has not a goddamn thing to be nervous or embarrassed about, but I dont. I want to tell her how sexy, and how completely thought consuming she has been, but I dont. I want to tell her she is so fucking hot. But again, I dont. I decide to stay quiet. I want her to lead how were going to play this thing out, whatever will make her to feel more at ease. Therefore, I stand in silence watching and waiting for her to call the shots. She begins to fumble with getting her t-shirt on and rather than staying quiet like I had planned guess what happens?

I had it all: an adoring husband, supportive friends, thriving career, a homey condo in the city.

Amend that.

I had it all except for love from my family. But life was spectacular because I had him. Max was everything I dreamed a husband could be and somehow he loved me just as wildly as I loved him.

Until one cruel night he was stolen from me.

Then I had nothing but a vicious battle ahead of me. It’s a struggle so treacherous, I’m not sure if I’ll make it out with my heart in tact. But on the other side of that brutal war waits the most wondrous prize.

Will I allow myself to move forward?

excerpt

Prologue – Hers

When my husband works overnights at the fire station, I sleep on his side of the bed. Max doesn’t know that even though he spends more nights in our bed than out of it, I miss him enough to burrow in sheets emanating the remnants of his aftershave. It’s like being cocooned in his arms even when he’s not around. Sleep comes easier over here.

That’s where I am, tucked underneath the down cover, safe in a dreamless slumber when a pounding rouses me. My heart leaps in surprise and I launch into a seated position, hand hovering over my chest. With a blind hand, I slap along the bedside table to find my glasses and jam them onto my nose. Knuckle pounding against wood doesn’t cease when I capture the time.

Nothing good can come of someone knocking on your door at one in the morning.

I scoot off the bed and shrug into the lightweight robe that lies on my husband’s suit valet.

He hates it when I leave my things there, I think numbly. Somehow my body’s moving forward, even though every nerve ending screams at me to crawl back into bed and pretend this is a dream. It’s almost like the Grim Reaper lurks on the other side of that door. I imagine a black hooded robe, bony skeletal fingers clutching a scythe waiting for me.

If there were enough time, I’d bargain with him. Beg to replace my life for his. Give up everything I have on God’s green earth for the man who gave me the gift of a full, flourishing life.

A knock on the door means it’s too late for brokering. If a ringing phone yanked me from sleep, it wouldn’t be this daunting. The fear wouldn’t be overpowering all of my other senses.

With a quivering hand I flip a light switch on and unlatch the lock on our front door.

Their faces are grim, solemn. Hot tears blur my vision before I can identify who has come to deliver the news. Even before they speak, a strangled cry rips from my throat and my knees buckle. Like a puppet cut from its strings, I collapse toward the floor. Strong arms encircle my waist squeezing me tight.

The pressure of this man’s arms around me is the only thing reminding me I’m still alive and not thrust into the depths of hell.

“Violet.”

“Don’t say it,” I shriek. A feral cat stole my voice box, the howls ripping from my body completely unlike any other sound I’ve ever made.

“Violet.” This time the stern voice fights through the tornado of emotion and I blink hazily upward.

“Felix,” I whisper through a dry, cracked throat. Soot and ash still mar his cheeks, hair disheveled in every which way. Weariness seeps off him, from the slump in his shoulders to the exhaustion in his eyes.

“We lost him. I’m so sorry. We lost him.”

I don’t remember much of anything after that.

Vacant by Ker Dukey RELEASE DAY BLITZ!

vacant release banner   Vacant Divider book info

Title: Vacant (an Empathy novella)

Author: Ker Dukey

Genre: Dark Erotica

Release Date: March 30, 2015

Vacant Divider synopsis

Ryan

When two dark souls connect the draw is too dominant to ignore and the obsession of owning the only color to brighten my dark world too unrelenting to not obey. I left her alone so she could live a normal life but I was weak, how can she live a normal life after so much sinister chaos invaded her world, summoning her own darkness to the surface? The depraved devil that is me now had an anchor, someone to venture into the black abyss with. Normal wasn’t a path ever set for Cereus. She was her Father’s daughter but my soul mate, even if I disputed ever owning one. She was struggling without me in her life, the vacant ache inside her leaking out. I can’t not go to her, the need is too strong and like with all of my urges I embrace it.

5*
If you have ever loved,...really loved. The kind that strengthens your soul, the kind that make you believe in forever, the kind where they are the voice in your head that becomes your moral compass? The voice that leads you into the light or helps you embrace the darkness...Then you'll understand this book. The bond between Cereus and Ryan is so strong that they feel an invisible vein pumping blood from one to the other, almost as if their very existence would cease if they couldn't be near one another. For Ryan, that's a very different feeling. he lives in a world where empathy and love are entirely foreign. They meant nothing to him until he met her. she was his other half. The light to compliment his dark (with 69 shades of fucked up in the middle) ''When the wind whispers through the trees, I imagine its him calling me...but he never appears. He hides from me in the shadows of my dreams'' I don't have a bad word to say about this series. If I could lock Ker in my Cellar and force her to write me more Ryan tales...that's where she'd stay...but I hear that's frowned upon! -cough- and illegal. 5 stars (500 still wouldn't be enough)

I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether it be through lyrics or bed time stories with my sisters. I wanted to be an actress growing up so I could live many roles but I learned early on that my mind was too active… I would want to change the script.I would watch films and think of ways they could of improved the story if they took another direction so i thought it best that i tell my own.My mum would always have a book in her hand when I was young and passed on her love for reading, inspiring me to venture into writing my own. I tend to have a darker edge to my writing. Not all love stories are made from light, some are created in darkness but are just as powerful and worth telling. When I’m not lost in the world of characters I love spending time with my family. I’m a mum and that comes first in my life but when I do get down time I love attending music concerts or reading events with my younger sister. You can find me on Facebook where i love interacting with my readers.
