BLACK HORSE
Author: Addison Kline
"What would you do if the only man you ever loved was the son of the man that murdered your parents?"
In Addison Kline's fiery romantic suspense novel, Averi Ford's future
collides with her past with ferocious intensity. Averi Ford and Colt
McClain have loved each other since they were children. They both come
from a broken past. Colt's mother died when he was young, and Averi's
parents were taken from her at the tender age of five. The same man is
responsible for both of their broken childhoods: Tom "Black Horse"
McClain. He also happens to be Colt's father. Now twenty years after the
crimes that fractured both of their hearts, Black Horse is getting out
of jail and he's coming after the girl who testified against him: Averi,
herself. Colt wants to hide her, but Averi refuses to run.
"Our past does not own us, and we owe it to our hearts to show the world
that love can arise from the darkest of places. We just have to survive
Black Horse to tell the tale."

This
story is shining in its moral simplicity! If your best friends father
killed your parents....could you see the distinction between his
actions and those of his bloodline? could you separate the
overwhelming sense of loss and pain? and those of innocence? The
characters were well written and they developed at a pace that
matched the books plot line. Randy and Tim were originally portrayed
as ''knuckle heads'' but you quickly discover that its entirely
driven by the grief for their parents and the overwhelming urge to
protect a young girl who has seen more evil up close than any human
should be forced to endure. I am, of course, head over heels with
Randy and Colt, The protectiveness that they show Averi was touching
and at times utterly hilarious, I defy anyone not to snort and belly
laugh at the store scene....read the book and you'll understand!
Black Horse was an evil and twisted serial killer who had no problem
extinguishing the life from anyone that dared to stand in his way!
expect drama and intrigue and tears of joy...and sorrow. This is a
fast paced emotional journey with more twist and turns than Black
Horses run for the border! It is worth noting however, the author
uses 'drug' instead of 'drag' on several occasions as a regional
hat-tip to the west, it isn't a mistake you picky English readers
Although there isn't a cliffhanger as such, Ms Kline has left it on a
note that will have you salivating for more! Luckily...Addison has
already released book 2 'Broken Road' (Review to follow because I
couldn't restrain my one click finger) 4 stars!
